Slip and Slide Jeffrey
got to love the fact that he is having so much fun, nice full motion shot there by the way, And stacie, love the new avatar. looks like you not only been in the sun, but have someone to brighten your day....
I also only tried it once and hurt like all get out the next day! Kids must be immune to the slip and slide gut busting.
that Steve...
For the record...NOTHING, absolutely, positively, nothing is better than watching a child have fun. The sheer joy on their faces lifts from an adult the cares and worries that burden us!
Just looking at him on the slip and slide makes me smile!
Do not venture over to the thread about "What aspect of the Milt influenced you"...Geez...
Don't say you haven't been warned. It got pretty heavy, so I left. I much prefer looking at Jeffrey's sweet smile on that slip and slide!
I think that is what Steve was hinting at when he made his comment. Back to the Slip n slide thread already.
But she got a +3 combat move and shoved me in the petunias.
Remember I still broke my leg on this thing!
I was one of those kids who stayed at the Milt most of my summer vacation...long story...anyway, I also would have enjoyed my summer so much more with that outdoor pool! Talk about beating the heat!!! Whew, they did a great job on that.
Is it still our turn on the slip n slide?
I probably wouldn't let my daughter walk across town anymore...
Oh and yes, bailing hay, scraping lot, and sweating all summer did make us strong! I am woman hear me roar!!!

I'm certainly not complaining about all that we did have at the Milt...but have you seen the new outdoor pool facility? It is awesome! I know we had an olympic sized pool and all, but in the summer that indoor thing was like a sauna!!! It was fun, and many great times were had there!
In fact that is where I took my kids today since I have off on Tuesdays in the summer, and the past two weekends that is where you will find me and my kids and a few students we have....I would have never went home for summer vaca if they had that pool when my brother and I were there, we are the ultimate Pool Rats! The outdoor pool is one of the best ways they have spent money in a looong time. Good for them, and as far as the grass being greener on the other side, that is a good example of it, but I think it is just what All kids do, the cool thing is when we grow up and some of us actually learn that it is a facade and we learn to be happy and content with what we have. Stacey this is a great photo, I have one question, were your stomach muscles super sore the next day? cuz the last time i did a slip n slide....actually it was also my very first time, I was about 22 years old and my muscles hurt sooo bad the next day. but it looks sooo fun.
Perfect entertainment especially considering the heat wave we're experiencing in Philly area..............Seventh straight day above 90.
What's your problem with me??? You never say anything nice about me!!!
That's gonna get me in trouble.....
Clay's skull?
Can you think of a bigger target?
are hauled away to the hospital, I take full control of the slip and slide.... Cyn, wanna join me?
and of course you also Stacie...
Yours or mine?
*wrings out head band*
*then rat tails Suzie Q in the butt*

farewell Grasshopper
Not like the Butt was a hard target to miss!!!

Ah Grasshopper you were a worthy foe. Take this in my honor

Not wanting to overwhelm or injure the young padawan she has no other choice. Again with her good leg she does her regains balance. Turns to him and whips out her old ancient Chicano secret moves that have never before been witnessed by the young lad. He is thrown up doing a quadruple flip into the air and goes flying down the slip in slide miraculously flies over the wall and into the neighbors bed of flowers for a soft landing. By this time the Ambulance shows up and Sue once again takes that long lonely trip to the VA hospital 45 minutes away.
I'm sorry Suzie that it's come to this.
I slowly trudge up the lawn, nostrils flaring and eyes focused (um, or is it eyes flaring and nostrils focused?)
ANYWAY...
waxes on
waxes off
paint the fence
paint the fence
to Suzie, who gets dizzy from all of this and I push her down the slip and slide
Oh you soooooo didn't make me do it.

I butted right into your "conversation". Back to the water sliding you two! Sue watch that leg!

You sure did capture the pure joy of a little boy in summer! And...
I probably wouldn't let my daughter walk across town anymore...
Oh and yes, bailing hay, scraping lot, and sweating all summer did make us strong! I am woman hear me roar!!!

The funniest thing happened recently; Not too long ago, I was having a conversation with my cousin, who is two years younger than me. She had two parents at home, who loved her, and provided a wonderful life, with all the coolest clothes, a pool in her backyard (she would have had one of those big fancy water slides too, I'm sure), etc... well, she revealed that she was jealous of me in high school (we didn't always get along back then)
! When I asked her why, she said because Milton Hershey gave us so many better opportunities! OMG!!! Isn't it funny how the grass is always greener on the other side? I would have switched with her in a heart beat back then, but now I would never switch, because looking back, and even now, realizing how right she was, I wouldn't trade any of my Milt experiences for anything! While we are at Milton Hershey, things seem to suck, but the moment we get out, or graduate and look back, it's funny how fond the memories truly are!
You show no mercy!
You must take living in "KILLADELPHIA" pretty serious.
Sue sucks up the pain. Ninja bounces back up onto her one good leg. Does one of her infamous ninja leaps into the air and gets Will dead on (Doing this all with the one good leg). He now flies down the slip and slide twisting and turning. Then he stops right before hitting neighbors wall. Phew! That was close!!! Sue is sighed with relief. Not wanting to do any real harm to the young ninja warrior.
Now, back to the Susie Q and Will story *throws Susie over his shoulder and tosses her bowling ball style down the slip and slide*
Eh, been awhile since creative writing but I do it to ease the brain ya know? Yeah, the sarcasm is real, the people are real...just dont take life too dang serious ya know? I think we've all been through enough sh*t in our lives to not help and support each other ya know? Creative conversation on our individual belief systems can be fun IF u don't take it seriously.
Now, back to the Susie Q and Will story *throws Susie over his shoulder and tosses her bowling ball style down the slip and slide*
Then she falls breaks other thigh bone!
(That's what she gets for being bratty!)
*Sticks tongue back at him between groans of pain.*
You are too funny Will! You really should do some story writing.
whooaaa
dang it
da*n cane and ninja warrior moves everytime ZOINKS!
FINE!
I'll wait my turn!
*sticks out tongue*
I wanna...

Can I come and play?
Hey,
First.. I will say.. that we did have barn and that sucked.... especially hay..... (until I moved to Limestone and we did't have that)... but we also had an Olympic size swimming pool..... and free passes to Hershey Park... and lets face it.... it made us strong!!!!!!!
Kids today don't face having to walk to Hershey Park.... they can't.. people would be too concerned with them getting abducted... they face stuff .. that we never had to worry about...
But I think this picture of Jeffrey captures those carefree summers when you didn't have a care in the world....
Oh and yes... I was slipping and sliding as well.. but there will never ...and I repeat NEVER be a picture posted here or anywhere of that happening.
Today u and i could do it in our sleep. Except when I lived in Florida I really never had a/c even on some hot days where everyone else was melting.
Anyway...this behemoth was amazing! Had like two water drops (came from overhangs like what Stacey's boy has) and they dropped it into a pool. I was like WHOA. We had slip and slide's when I was a kid (remember this hideous red and yellow thing in our neighborhood I had a blue one
) but nothing like this. Any parents know this thing I mean? What is it?
we had to WALK the whole way across town on a hot summer day just to go to Hersheypark! But we DID it. I can't imagine kids today understanding that!!!
THAT'S what I was trying to describe. Behind the house there is a small park and they made practically a superhose for this behemoth is amazing! Has like Stacey's boy has with the balloon type of cross bar and all...looks dang fun!
As for the lofts, when people complain about having to, get this, walk from their door to their car and wait 60-90 seconds for the A/C to pop and "I'm getting sweaty" I laugh at them like they know heat
have you guys seen the "new" version of slip and slides? There are these things called "Bonzai slides", they are so cool...I want one! It's like a huge water slide (looks like the old bouncy things from our childhood), kids have so much these days! Remember the heat from the barn loft on those hot summer days? We could have used the outdoor pool that the kids at the Milt have now!!!
Actually the neighbors have been putting out a "Super Slide" things frigging HUGE and this PVC pipe water arch thing for the kids...suckers...imagine 20 years ago and we were stacking hay at this time. These kids are whimps
I wanna slide too!
Talk about beating the heat,
! It's been brutal lately...I think we all need to follow little Jeffrey's example, come on everyone, get out those slip and slides!!!
now where's the pics of you on it?

I was cazy enough to end up with 13 children at the pool. (My husband wanted me to have my brain checked.
) I took 8 in the durango and then 5 more showed up that I had to end up supervising. Anyway! I had so much fun watching these kids going up and down the slide. They also have a diving board talk about funny. IT WAS THE GREATEST! Kids are so great to watch! Pure innocent fun.
