Charles Norman Boykin
Chuck was not my paternal brother. It went alot deeper than that.
Chuck was closer than i ever thought i could be with someone from the home. i had some realy bad times in the home and chuck always made me feel better. some of those times were created by my own blood. chuck was more that a best friend. he was a brother in my heart as well as a brother in the home. i was on a case that took me away for nine months and when i visited my mom the day i got i back i found a mhsaa news letter with his obit.
i was totaled. i didn't even know he was sick. chuck had been stricken with viraul pneumonia. he had passed away 6 months before. he is buried in Belair maryland. he was my salvation more than once. my mom still cries when we talk about him. if i took anything with me from the home it was feeling i had a "Brother".
there are many we call friends but few we truly call family.
the exact date i cannot remember, nor at this point do i wish to remember. it was in the summer of 1988 or 1989. he left a wife, and a beautiful little boy.
Thanks for the update. That is very sad to hear about Charlie.
Harry Charlie died several years ago, not sure when. Had to be over ten years though. I was getting ready to go to work when I heard on teh news that a man in Hanover died in a car accident. They said that his name was Charles Boykin, I didn't think much of it then because I knew that he was from Baltimore, but low a behold it was him. Yes he was a good guy I liked him as well. I think about him and other people now and then (I guess we all do).
rednck, who are you?
Clyde,
I was unaware that Charlie had passed away. How and when did this happen? I really liked Charlie, he was a great guy, full of life at the Milt. I checked the MHSAA website and he is not listed in the Obituaries section. I am so very sorry for your loss. You also had an older brother Bill. How is he doing?
