With Excitement!
I'm not getting into politics here, but Sarah Palin was actually a pleasant surprise VP choice for John McCain.
So think about this election, and how far our country has come. We'll either have the first African American president, or the first woman as Vice president. Now, that is exciting!
Thoughts or comments???
Please keep things nice here!
The T.V. is one thing that we can at least control but the MAIL is crazy. For the last 2-3 weeks everytime I open my mailbox it overflows with all this mess. Mostly local election stuff but it is unreal at how much JUNK mail we have gotten.
Do I have to watch them on Tues. also or will they finally stop on Mon.?
Stop the madness! I'm not turning my tv on on Tuesday at all. I'll see who wins on Wednesday, if they even have the answer yet! I'm not that excited either way.
thankfully Tues. is almost here.
Do I have to watch them on Tues. also or will they finally stop on Mon.?

The story is actually from the ultra-liberal huffingtonpost.com website. Nice try though.
Besides, what does that mean, "whack job"? She's a hitman for the Soprano family? Isn't it "wack job"?

Oh yeah? Well emptyheadeddolts.com reports that 4 out of 5 suburban Obama voters think "Pretty Fly For A White Guy" is actually about THEM. The website jimjones.com reports that 2 out of 3 Obama voters plan to take their Kool-Aid into the voting booth with them.
On top of that, Alfred E. Neumann has announced he's crossing over to McCain/Palin.
So there.
Then I know that hopefully someone will be in the WhiteHouse that will definately understand me and the rest of the American public.

Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.
Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."
Williams' daughter told her that up to 40 of her co-workers had refused to read the script, and had left the call center after supervisors told them that they would have to either read the call or leave, Williams says. The call center is called Americall, and it's located in Hobart, IN.
This is a very old list of Dems that switched to Repugs before they endorsed McCain. More than half were already in the GOP some were independents and others have already switched back to Obama.

watch it, you might just learn something.....
Can I get that on my registration card?
Voting for anyone known to consort with terrorists is treason on some planets... Just not ours I guess?
I am glad you were able to make it over to my side.

Other than them both having brown skin I don't get it.....oh, now I get it. That's right, you live in lynch-burg.
Biden Bi'nla'den....it isn't that hard to get...oh it must be my superior Chicago intellect.
Yep, it must be your superior intellect.
Resulting Business Owner's & CEO's tax plan: Substantially decrease workers and worker's wages. (I am fairly certain they are not planning on losing any money)
I foresee a greater gap between the wealthy and the poor being created resulting in a continuing shrinking middle class. I hope I'm wrong.
That is a pretty defeatist attitude. Corporations will always win so we should just get used to losing huh? Why even vote then?
Because I think Obama's plan is faulty = I shouldn't vote?

Comparing, linking or just plain invoking Bin Laden's name with Obama's is low.

you're voting for, i thought that video was hilarious. waaasssss uuuupppp Greg? Tell Nancy I said hello and give her a big hug from me
.
you have an awesome memory. I must have tried to block things out, because in comparison, I remember very little!
so many opinions. I seem to recall a girl at Conastoga who looked different from her older sister because she was a product of rape. I don't recall her name.
By the way, Chuck, with all of your emphasis on McCain's health, why no mention of Biden's multiple brain surgeries? Is it just me, or does it seem that one of them was accidentally a labotomy?
If I ever get in a war of words, I want you and Clay on my team!
Man you crack me up!
That was hilarious!! I am still laughing!! I do not know how you guys come up with some of this stuff!! I probably can't think of those things because I'm
Another Small Town, Religion-clinging, Gun-toting American who's voting for McCain
Hmmm......where have I read that before? Oh yeah it was on here!
P.S. Steve you don't do to bad yourself

1. She doesn't evidence any knowledge of history, economics, geography or philosopy. There is a reason she has been kept from the press in all but the most contolled situations.
2. Her beliefs are out of touch with mainstream America. Most Americans believe that a woman who is raped, or the victim of incest should not have to bear a child of that depraved union. Most Americans do not believe in faith healing, or in a literal interpretation of the Old Testament. This is problematic when it becomes part of a president's strategy for dealing with issues. (See Bush, G.)
3. More should be said of her association with the group who sought Alaskan secession from the United States. How's that putting America first?
4. She is essentially inarticulate when not working from a script.
It's understandable that many of you would find it laudable that a woman is running for VP, but you should google "Geraldine Ferraro" to keep it in perspective.
1. Joe Biden doesn't evidence any knowledge of much of anything. Witness his remark that Obama would be "tested" as JFK was. JFK WAS tested early in his administration. And failed. Judging from some of the things out of his mouth, he should be kept from the press in all but controlled situations as well.
2. Joe's beliefs are out of touch with mainstream America. Most of us do not believe it is right to cheat our way through college and law school. Most of us believe stealing the words of others and passing them off as our own is wrong. Most of us believe murder/abortion on demand is wrong.
3. More should be said about Biden's associations throughout the years with incredibly liberal, anti-American groups. How is radical socialism putting America first?
4. Joe is essentially a loose cannon when not working from a script. He's like the uncle who comes to Thanksgiving, has too much to drink, asks the overweight aunts if they are pregnant, then falls asleep on the recliner with his fly open.
By the way, Chuck, with all of your emphasis on McCain's health, why no mention of Biden's multiple brain surgeries? Is it just me, or does it seem that one of them was accidentally a labotomy?
that if we were the ones raped and violated, with the end result being a pregnancy that the situation would be terribly serious, and difficult, but what we are also saying is that good can come from tragedy and violent acts. Though it would be painful and difficult at first, I believe I would choose to keep a baby, if that happened to me. I have read a story once about a woman who kept a baby from rape and it was an amazing story of love, and grace and beauty. The child also was quoted in the article, she was so thankful her mom made the choice to keep her. I forget the details of the article, but I remember it made me think it was def. possible to rise above the pain and to love the child.

you know what I meant.
trouble begins at "I'm pregnant!" I better see a Doctor.... no, I better get a 2nd opinion!
Moral certitude requires a lesser degree of confidence in order to act in good conscience. Does your conscience allow you to kill unborn children? Mine doesn't give me the ability to even comprehend doing such an act!
I love when you talk smart like that!
Life begins at "I'm pregnant."
Maybe they think the child should be given the death penalty for the transgression of the rapist?
Here's hoping that your moral certitude is never confronted by real events. Trust me, nothing is ever as simple as it seems.
I hope I never have to be confronted with such a thing either...I would hate to get pregnant!
So where did God give us the right to decide the fate of a child's life?

do you think that Obama and Mcain don't spend outrageous amounts on their clothes during a campaign...
.... let's single out the lady! Mud slinging.....
Child born out of rape.... my wife and I can't have children... we would take it! But no, let's kill it.
you make Cyndi, I cannot chime in as much as I should simply cuz I haven't had time to sit and listen to all the debates yet, and other news conferences where you all are getting this info. What really impresses me and BLOWS my mind is that you women know all these names of Designer clothes and bags!!!
And if Sarah would wear Wal mart, people would be attacking her for supporting a business giant that puts small time businesses out on the street!
and consider it already done, via absentee ballot.
Actually, I find mainstream wrong most of the time. We posted at the same time. :-)
I guess we'll find out on Election Day. Most data available now is showing that Palin is a drag on ticket. The "base" is shrinking.
Go Cyndi!!! Go Cyndi!!!
Actually, I find mainstream wrong most of the time. We posted at the same time.
is being a concrete thinker bad?
Does this have to do with the fact that she is woman? I'm a woman. I also believe that while a rape or incest would be an awful cause to pregnancy, but it IS a child!!! From conception. Hold that grandbaby closer, it could have easily been a rape, and in your view, might not be here at all. think of all the grandparents who don't get to hold that sweet baby.
I'm in a history class right now, and I don't like it, but I can learn it. I'm pretty sure Sarah Palin can as well. We aren't all the best at everything. Geez, ask a guy how much he knows about certain issues, and you get blubbering answers also. She is prepped well, and Obama isn't? Pullleeezzze he's so practiced! I think Sarah Palin is as qualified to do the job she's running for, as Obama is to do the job he's running for.
I've heard someone say on here before, it's the lesser of two evils. God help us...is really what we should all be saying!
Personally I don't give a crap about mainstream America and just because it's mainstream doesn't make it right.
Again, for you concrete thinkers--it's not the clothes, it's the hypocrisy. But, to get to the "real" issues:
I've been a loyal Republican for a long time, and up until Sen. McCain chose Sarah Palin as a running mate, I was all set to give him my vote. Guys, I have nothing at all against a woman being V.P or even president, but Palin was far from the best choice for the job. The Couric interviews proved that. Katie Couric is probably the easiest and least aggressive interviewer in the business, I shudder to think what might have happened had she been interviewed by Lou Dobbs or Barbara Walters.
Listen, John could have chosen from a handful of experienced, seasoned Republican women who would have energized the conservative base and lent some real credibility to the ticket. Instead, he made a bad decision and went for shock and awe instead of sense and responsibility. Folks, Sarah Palin thinks Africa is a country and Jesus is the prime minister of Israel. My Five year old nephew knows more about foreign affairs than she does, no joke. She isn't a whack job, the word I'm thinking of is "ignorant".
Anyway, just my opinion. I'm glad I decided not to invest in that condo in Wasilla...
