Laurean,
You talk about spoofs...Channel 6 here (after Chief Halftown) used to do Courageous Cat which was kinda a spoof/poor man's version of Mighty Mouse...was definately fun and seeing a few episodes on YouTube has brought back memories of the show and the groans of my mom and dad when I wanted to watch it at 6 am.
Oh the memories. Alas, I'm getting old
I thought I was the only one that remembered The Mighty Heroes... Diaper Man, Strong Man, Wind Man, Rope Man, and Cuckoo Man
It was a spoof of the other superhero cartoons, made back in the late 60s.

Capt Caveman...I loved that show too. Didn't he do some time on laff a lympics? anyone remember the show with the superhero whose sidekick was Yuck the dog? He always wore a doghouse on his head? At times, he'd take it off and scare the bad guys? Total cheese, but it was funny.
There was a show on hanna barbara hour...sci-fi cartoon. Dinosaurs but they were different. The one was like Schmooo..it could shape of almost anything. Another shot bullets from it's head. Johnny Quest-like but not.
Maybe I was one of the few that watched Captain Caveman?
I liked alot of the cartoons already mention too, and a few other shows I liked were:
Batman
The Green Hornet
American Bandstand
And I still like Scooby Doo which means I also liked comic strip Marmaduke (possibly why I have my 3rd Great Dane)I'll have to find a pic of her to post.
Oh my gosh do you remember Sigmon the Sea Monster or HR Puffin Stuff? I know they were a little okay a lot before my time but I had older siblings and my mother liked to buy VHS tapes of those stupid things agghhh...I will never subject my children to those
Saturday mornings in Reading we only really got the Philly stations...
Generally started the morning with Captain Noah and his Amazing Ark (and it's funny I was just reading Philadelphia Style Magazine and he gave his guitar to some charity organization YES he's still alive
Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse (if one was up at 630am)
Clay you are SOOO right w/ Starblazers. I remember 81-83 and we dropped everything to go over to my friend Dave LaGrange's place to watch Starblazers every afternoon on old Channel 48. Show still holds up!!!

Laff-a-lympics
Superfriends OH Washington, DC YEAH
Thundercats
He-Man
She-Ra
loved Johnny Quest as well
I mean, alot of the others have been mentioned.

I loved that show, and wanted to be her soo bad.
Lynda Carter was my hero, and she was so pretty too.
I loved Wonder Woman...the real show and cartoon. I even had wonder woman underoos and a WW bday party
Any otheg girls out there run around with foil bracelets?
Or if you prefer, YOU'RE DA MAN. G-force...that's it. Thank you. You have confirmed that, yet again, there's another thing that I did not imagine!! People act like I'm not right when it comes to that show, but someone besides me does remember. :) I loved that show...came on after the original spiderman (which was reruns from the 60's) and spidey was on at 3:30. I'd run home from elementary school which was across the street. That is literally. Thanks.
if its the one i am thinking of, the group of kids were called G-Force but that was not the name of the cartoon. It was an air plane the split into 5 seperated vechials.. 2 smailer planes, 1 tank, 1 motorbike, and i think a sub...
Oh yea "Battle of the Planets" was the name of the cartoon now that i started typing about them....
That should help you...
PeeWee's Playhouse. Our favorite show at Trailway's. Jenni, Krista, Sabrina, and I watched it just about every Saturday morning. It was the 80's what can I say?
Roger, I loved Land of the Lost. Does anyone remember Kroft Superstars? I think that was the name anyway.
Meredith
These shows...almost all of them I remember too well. FTR...Land of the Lost, Sigmund the Seamonster, H R Puffenstuff, and Wonder buggy were all part of the Croft Superstars hour. There's another one that was on there too. It was like Lost in Space but not. The Justice league on Cartoon Network is a take off of the whole Superfriends thing that Jack was talking about. Saturdays at 8 on ABC..I can't believe that I remember that. Shazaam and Isis were an hour later on Saturdays. I can't believe that the original Spider-Man wasn't mentioned. I'm talking about the first cartoon not the 80's one. That was a revamp with Firestar and Ice Man. Here's one that I can never remember the name of....The story is about a group of teens who were a super group. They were poweer ranger-ish, but they were way before then. I think this show actually was the inspiration for shows like Voltron, which also is similar but after this show. The five kids would get to the spaceship, and with a flip of the switch it turned into the fiery Phoenix. I couldn't have been but second grade. Nobody but me remembers this show though.
I remember a few:
Captain Kangaroo (National)
Captain Noah (Philly)
Mister Rogers
HR Puff-n-Stuff
Land of the Lost
I'll try to remember more, but I'm getting
The other day a co-worker of mine asked me what got me started with computers. Well I started describing this show from the early '80s. It involved a kid from the 1980 with a home built computer who somehow taps into the space time continuum and contacts a girl living on a space station in 2010. In any event she remembered the show too.
I embarked on a quest to find out what the show was called. It took me about 15 minutes (which is a long time for me) and I found it. It was called "StarStuff" and it was only shown in the Philly area on WCAU. Anyway it was kind of cool reconnecting with that show, and what started me off on my eventual career path.
StarBlazers is the shiznit.
Transformers (I'm jacked about the movie)
GI Joe
Ultraman (There was another one with a robot family and the kid was a hybrid?)
Speed Racer (Racer X was the man!)
Captain Noah
Davey and Goliath (clay-mation christian morals show)
ThunderCats (They're making a movie)
Thundar the Barbarian
Smurfs
Creature Double Feature on channel 48
Journey Beneath the Sea? (Richard Basehart was the star)
Shazam
Land of the Lost (Sleestaks)
Space 1999 (I had a toy Eagle)
Salvage One (Junk yard guy builds a space ship and goes to the moon, too cool.)
Does anyone remember "The Great Space Coaster"? A character named Gary Gnu doing the Gnews sticks out in my mind.
I really liked the Adamms Family - a lot of sight gags, etc. One scene I remember well: Morticia had invited someone over for tea. As they finished their cuppa, Morticia asked, "Do you mind if I smoke?" And when the other woman gave assent, Morticia folded her arms and smoke began to billow up all around her! I still laugh when I think of that.
Another show I remember (going way back now) is Jerold McBoingBoing. A lot of it was a bit over my head, but Jerold could only say 'boing' - that was the extent of his vocabulary.
The Great American Hero was such a great show.
The cable or other station out of philly, didn't come until later,
I do remember nearly all of those listed so far. But there is one i remember but the name i don't think i have quite right. Came on same time slot as Ultraman but every other day. About a kid who found a watch the controlled a giant robot. But other then that, i can't put my finger on it... his name was Johnnie something any help would be apprecated.
Rocky and Bullwinkel (show) with professer peabody.. and didley do right..,

Speed buggy (and speed racer)
and one that i never watched was mr. rodgers neighborhood.

and then the Star Spangled Banner (at the first and last thing on everystation) this was back when TV boadcast actually signed off each night...
What about Sinbad the Sailor and Salty too...
And what about the Flinstones and the Jetsons?
The Banana Splits were our Saturday morning cartoons along with H R Puff N Stuff.
Underdog and Mighty Mouse were also popular cartoons.
It's time to play the music...it's time to light the light..it's time to get things start on the Muppet Show tonight!
Kermie is still my fav
DeJuan, I think it was Aquaman! We can't forget "Underdog"! They've actually made a movie out of that now.
And btw, I remember Dark Shadows as well.

Tree88
You see, it's now on DVD, and for Christmas, B-days, Father's Day, someone, mainly us or my sister always gets another season for my husband so it gets played in the truck almost incessantly. In the bedroom while we are cleaning, folding laundry or doing mindless stuff like that, etc.........yes, I remember it!!!!!!
