THE I'M BORED ROOM
im pretty much always bored... n bc no one is ever on when i am ...i go to different sites then forget about themilt... i know wash my mouth out with
Just didn't want this thread to die...how sad ;-(
It seems like this subject is dead. Hasn't been any new posts here since last may? Oh well, nobody here to talk to then. bye.
My aunt lives in Mahanoy City in the Poconos. She has basement entrance still open.
Vikki,
Our toilet is just like that, it's in the middle of the basement near a wall, no walls, no curtains or anything, I thought it was odd when we bought the house. I thought, now why would anyone just put a toilet bowl in the middle of the basement without any privacy around it? We do find some coal in our back yard if we dig into the ground, not the kind that's used in your grill either. It's the hard black shiny stuff.

If you live in an old mining area (like my aunt) it was probably so when the guys came home they could shower and use the toilet without dirtying the entire house. My aunt has a working toilet in the center of her basement. No walls, no curtain, just sitting there across from the washer and dryer. I guess if your doing that much laundry you just might need it
Yes, Clint it does, that's where my husband stays when he pisses me off.
Okay, seriously no it doesn't, but the way our basement is, I wonder how it what used for back in the day, there is a drain (that our washing machine drains into now) in the middle of the basement floor. The toilet(not functional) is on one side of the basement, and the shower ring is on the other side of the basement. I know our basement used to have an opening to it that you could use to get in it from the backyard, but it's been sealed off (many, many, many years ago) You wouldn't even know looking at our backyard that you would ever be able to get into the basement from there at one point. Our house was built in the 1920's, and there is a train track behind our house, so I wonder what kind of history is in this house.

Some sort of prisoner camp or torture room...does your basement have iron rings hanging from the walls with heavy chains fastened to them?
Amy, let me know how the bathroom comes along, and any problems you run into along the way. When the kids get a little older we are thinking of taking the huge closet we have in our living room that they store their toys in right now, and making it into a second bathroom. We will have to redo the walls in the closet because they are horsehair plaster. I'm just curious how easy it is (or not)to run new plumbing in order to install, a toilet, and a sink and tub. We won't have to run it through any walls, because it will be on the first floor, we can just run the plumbing right up from the basement. We also have this really old, (extremely old) toilet in our basement, I have no idea how long this thing has been down there, it's not functional, but it's still hooked up to the plumbing, even if we could make it functional, I would never use it because well, yea, it's been down there for so long, I'd be afraid to sit on it, incase something were to crawl out of it when you flushed it. My husband tried to go down there a few months ago and disconnect it, and try to get it out of the basement, but with it being so old, he said he's afraid to mess with the plumbing. We even have one of those old shower rings down in our basement. I'm very curious as to what our basement was used for back in the old days.

How do you do that? Is that what of those round things that has a metal tongue that you can pull out and release really quickly back in. Those are fun.
just enough so it drives you nuts! Did we not measure twice before hitting the home depot???
When I went to replace the toilets in my house I had to install flange repairs because the pipes were so messed up. I purchased about 12 before I found one that fit. Its a freaking toilet! How many different ways can you think of creating a tube for crap to slide down?
toilet is in. We need to put up some drywall, and install the sink and showerstall!
No hammers.....I can install the toilet for ya! I've done that before. My son dropped dropped top into the back of the toilet when he was about 4 and we had to replace the entire toilet. Needless to say...I learned the hard way how to install a new one. After all of that I had to have my landlord come out anyhow because the pipe was messed up (not our fault, it was about 50yrs old and was crumbling).
Yeah you too!!!!!!!
The same with me!!!! I bought two shirts on 9/5, and already they are looking "frumpy"!!!! It seems like it's making more of a difference now.......every pound, every inch, whereas before it wasn't so prevalent. It took inches or pounds before you could actually see it.
We aren't putting them up with nails.......we are using screws!!!! And no, you can't come over wielding a hammer anyway!!!!!
But I hope you guys do come over on Sunday at least to see our progress, if not to see our finished project.
And you know, we've done enough of these that you would think that we would remember to do the "before" and "afters"!!!!!!!
Great job with the weightloss, I guess we are neck and neck huh? Since May I have lost a total of 31 lbs (weighted myself last week). The pants I bought two weeks ago are loose.
Hey, maybe I can help. I know how to swing a hammer (just keep the kids at a safe distance
)

It's official, as of Friday the 14th, I have lost 30 lbs. in 4 1/2 months!!! I have not yet reached my goal, but, I am extremely happy with the progress. I have approximately 30 more pounds that I would like to lose. And, I am only 5 pounds behind my target weights and dates. Other than that, I am right on schedule!!!!! Yeah me!!!!!
We had a great weekend......last weekend we tore out a monster of a forsythia forest that had been neglected by former owners (I hate forsythia!). We tried to get it under control, as it was apparent it had been planted for privacy for the pool. However, it was too far gone and I got the spits of it last weekend so we tore it all out and decided that we were going to build ourselves a shadow box fence. Yes, we know that you can buy the panels already pre-built, but really, what's the fun in that?!?!?!? It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend and we spent all day Saturday and all day yesterday outside digging post holes, installing fence posts, measuring, and building fence panels. I finally ran out of daylight yesterday and we had to "close up shop" (although the night before my hubby was kind enough to rig up flood lights on a ladder for me so I could finish my first panel)! We have such a sense of accomplishment!!!! And, we think they look nicer than the pre-built one's. We can't wait to actually get the panels up on the posts over the next couple of days. We only did a small portion up at the top of our property, where the pool is, for some privacy, but are debating now on whether or not we want to run it down the entire length of our drive, we'll have to see what we think after we've got it fully constructed....hopefully by this weekend.
(By the way, he did all the hard work.....he dug all the post holes, by hand!!!!! We live on a quarry.......)
Next project, installing a second bathroom!!!!!
Thanks for the tip Amy. I'll have to keep my cactus coat on ROFL

Clay....your an idiot
You sign some little "poem" about writing upside down in my book. Why don't I remember us knowing each other?
Craig....I never did make it out to CA to look ya up.
What ever happened to Kevin Kliebenstein? He was my buddy.
Amy....tell your brother he was a horn dog in every year book he ever signed of mine ROFL
Heather....I don't remember but apparently your brother Nate and I were friends back in 85. Now I know why we need year books. It is almost impossible to remember sooooo many!
Where the heck is Jim Crout? He put the coolest art in my books. I actually remember him
Last I knew, Kevin was married and in Florida, but that was quite a few years ago.
And, my brother is still a horn dog and loves red heads, so look out!!!!!
I'm sitting here packing up stuff from a file cabinet and found my MHS year books. Started leafing thru.

Please breathe! That blue will NOT match your shirt
Hey, I happened to get a certification today too!
After over a year they actually sent my IDX certifcate. Talk about snail mail....it was down on the 2nd floor ROFL
I don't mind if you cert me as
just as long as I don't have to wear the jacket with the really long sleeves!
Can we start with the Vickster?
You're the brilliant mastermind behind this whole venture. ;-) But I can tell you that I think it would be a blast if we did the certifying.
Tree88
Then who would know?
I'm not sure at this point. :-]
Tree88
Aren't we supposed to be certifying them? Or are we supposed to be certifying ourselves.
But you crack me up and that ain't an easy task. :burp:
I'm bored out of my mind today too. What I've been doing is reading books and signing up on new "singles" sites. haha They're really entertaining if you must know. (I can see why some of the men are there are still single too)
Tree88
green shirt with white stripes...does that go with blue?
How do you look with a blue face? Does it match what your wearing? If your gonna do it I want to make sure you go out fashionably.
Totally accidental...is it better if I just gag myself so I can't breath?
But I can't watch the dumb videos at work! They only work on the firefox at home :( They won't let me download it here at work
and we cant even get on myspace or youtube either. (some people weren't doing their jobs and ruined it for the rest of us that can multitask)
And if your going to look over my shoulder could you please stop breathing in my ear.
I am quite content just staring over your shoulder reading anything you write and posting dumb videos, thank you.
i have to shower and go to work. I am enjoying the quiet time at my house, i was going to mow the grass but it seems I don't have enough time, sorry Murf. Amy i got your message too late last night to tell Murf to watch that show. But THURSDAY is SURVIVOR NIGHT BABY!!!!! Don't worry amy we tape the show, so i won't have to rush thru your appointment.
You mean after she strolled in 3 HOURS after school? Yes, and barely. The kids really had a hard time with homework last night and Eric ended up being sent to bed without all of his definitions finished. He did 12 of 20. Alex finished his. So as a result of their actions yesterday....Gina and Alex have no TV for 2 days and Eric no games for 2 days. Considering they just got Madden 2008 for both the Wii and the PS2, this is torture. Plus, since the TV part ready doesn't bother Gina she will be tackling the pig sty she calls a room to get ready for the move.
I don't know if I can handle this kind of boredom two days in a row!!!!
Vikki, is Gina alive this morning?!?!??!
I see some on here but no posts. Can someone please entertain me? My day is going soooooooo slow! I have only been here for a little over an hr and it feels like 3!
I left work early today. And had a bunch of crap to do all day. UGH one of these days I'll be able to come home in the afternoon and just take a nap!
Shannon, who gave you a map?!?!?!? Do you need help to find your way "back over"?!?!?!? Are you okay?!?!?!?
I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!!! But, ain't gonna happen, but we'll keep tryin'....the school year is gonna be tough!
You should overcome your boredom and come to trivia tonight!!
Yep, thats right, I did it! I jumped threads!!
Where is everyone?!?!?!? Vikki, did you make Clint disappear?!?!?!?
I am COMPLETELY bored today!!!! Must be the drenching rain, which I got SOAKED in this morning!!!!!
My Trustee and attorney are both at a conference, out of the 97 files I just reviewed this morning, only 42 of them did what they were supposed too, which means there are 55 cases that I have to go through and file documents for each of those cases!!!!! Why do I have to do the boring shit, just because the attornies were too lazy to do what they were ORDERED to do!!!!
Well folks, THAT'S my job security......lazy attornies!!!!
It is great to see your face again...or your avatar
I hope all is going well in your neck of the woods. We are all getting excited for homecoming, and still holding out hope you will just.."appear" then we can all say "dare you are Mere" haha
Or as my little Izzy says "Dare you are mommy!" I have been so busy lately. The beginning of the school year just about kills me every year. My oldest son Jordan is a senior this year and he plays football so we have been all over the place already with games and scrimmages. Morgan is in the band so thank the Lord that they go to the same places but, Morgan is also on the bowling team. My daughter Bailey goes to a Christian school and is in a running club among other things. I could go on with this stuff forever...but I hope things will slow down a bit so I can get organized.
I have missed you guys!!! I hope to get on here more now.
Meredith
There are alot of bored Milts on this afternoon? They dont have work on Friday afternoons? I'm sitting here in the renal scheduling section, filling in for someone that is at a meeting. So NOT fun. I could schedule IF they would give my sign in name the authorization but they won't and I have to frustrate the patients by taking a message. Right now I'm just a glorified answering machine. I don't even have any emails left to read! UGH
She is having her gallbladder remove. They do it laproscopically but she has heart disease which just kind of adds to the seriousness of it. It is supposed to be a pretty quick recovery though. God is with her and I trust that she's gonna come thru it all like the champ she is...just a worried mommy here, you know how that goes. I really miss you guys too. So I hope to be able to check in often. Love you all. Mwah
"A strong woman is one who feels deeply and loves fiercely. Her tears flow just as abundantly as her laughter. A strong woman is both soft and powerful. She is both practical and spiritual. A strong woman in her essence is a gift to all the world."

I miss you guys...and all the giggles that keep my days happy.
We were just sayin' WE MISS YOU GUYS!!!!!
Hope everything is okay with Marissa.........and like Linda said to me, just breathe!
;-)
However, I'm not quite sure WHERE I got it......I've been sayin' it FOREVER!!!! Shannon use to tease me about it when I would babysit his boys during the summer, Aidan was still in diapers, not sure how long ago THAT was!!!!
Does that make us cool?!?!?!?

I'll get the soap
