Let me know if you want to do something like that. We can maybe get some input on what they really want out there and I can find a valid address to send to the front lines again.
count me in.
Welp, I know what we can and can not send. I also know all about the shipping and the customs forms (I still have a bunch). If anyone wants to set something up let me know. Maybe we can bring stuff to homecoming (gotta find a central drop off) and then we would need postage donations. One of those small boxes in the pic below cost about $8.50 to send. As long as it fits in the box, it doesn't matter on weight.

Hay Pat, are you setting some thing up? I know when I was there for the first one I loved getting things from back home.
Not sure what we are doing. I would have to find another orgainzation to get a valid address. I wouldn't mind.
There is no better way to thank a service member than to send them something. You planning on doing it again?
To all who have ever supported us (other than putting a little magnet on your car, because that support doesn't reach us), we thank you all. I looked often for a kind word and never found it. Even family and political beliefs are thrown at veterans who only deployed with one purpose. That purpose is that their brothers and sisters returned home alive and well. We fight so you may be free.
I love you all.

Last year, we thanked our military by sending care packages. My sons go to a charter school and they are big into community service projects. I spearheaded a "hugs project". I had the 4th and 1st grades involved and they donated food and toiletries and other misc items then we did a fundraiser for postage. We sent 22 boxes over to the front lines of Iraq last year. Each one of them had a note placed on top so when it was opened they received a big thank you.
Trust me when people come up to us and thank us that makes being in IRAQ and coming back home more bearable. 3 months and 3 weeks to go.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day! I also hope that everyone took a moment to take a minute to remember why we celebrate it! And remember that our troops protect us everyday, not just on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day. So, please, when you see one at the gas station, grocery store, etc., please take the time to walk up to them, shake their hand and thank them!
To all of you who have served or are serving. Me and my family are very grateful. My prayers are with those that are in any danger and for the families who also sacrifice their loved ones and hold down the fort at home until they return. Thanks
I'll second that!

OK let's see. Maybe I will start a new forum topic for it.
