Pat Henricks '80 Fundraiser

All,

I am trying to organize a Pat Henricks '80 fundraiser. Pat has terminal cancer and needs support.

I originally began this discussion over on the former MHSAA Forum BB. Since it was abruptly canceled, I lost connectivity with the MHS alumni membership. Thanks to the Murfster and a new forum the Milton Hershey Forums, I am again able to communicate with the alumni en masse. Thank you, Murfster for creating this communication site. Not sure who created the other site, but thank you too! These types of electronic tools allow us to assist each much more efficiently and quicker.

While I know many alumni are becoming impatient with my efforts to organize this event, I want you to know that I have been communicating with our MHSAA BOD.

I am still awaiting feedback from the MHSAA BOD, and/or the MHSAA EC. The only communication I have received to date on this matter is that this topic is listed on the agenda to be discussed at the next MHSAA BOD meeting.

I too am becoming impatient because I want to move forward, but it is important to receive official MHSAA endorsement prior to receiving funds.

I talked directly to Eric Kline and he is supportive of this mission. I also have communicated via electronic means with Jill and she assured me that this topic is to be discussed at the next MHSAA BOD meeting. I read an email that Bob Heist released and he is almost certain the fundraiser will be approved, but he wants to make sure he has full board voting approval before moving forward. There are other issues to be discussed related to fundraising in general that must be addressed before any individual effort is approved.

Additionally, I have received an email from the immediate past-President and Chair of the MHSAA EC, he also assured me this issue will be discussed at the next MHSAA meeting, which I believe will occur on the week-end of the ASD, rescheduled for April 21, 2007.

In the mean time, I again ask everyone who is willing to assist in a fundraiser for Pat Henricks, to please send me their email address, so I can contact them directly to set up hands on team meeting to discuss the how, who, what, where and when of a fundraiser event – whether or not the board approves this mission. I know we have at least 15 volunteers to date, but unfortunately, some of those volunteers communicated to me solely via PM in the now defunct MHSAA Forum BB. So please, I ask all of you to once again inform me of your desire to assist by using my home email address which I have listed below.
