I just received the following announcement:

From LeRoy S. Zimmerman, chairman of the Board of Managers:

I am delighted to announce that Dr. Anthony J. Colistra, a career educator and graduate of Milton Hershey School, has been selected unanimously by the Board of Managers to succeed Johnny O’Brien as president.

Dr. Colistra, a 1959 graduate of the School, has dedicated his life to education, beginning as a teacher at Milton Hershey School. His career has included positions from guidance counselor to building principal, and he ultimately served as superintendent of the Cumberland Valley School District from 1997 to 2003. Colistra also served on the Board of Managers from 1997 to 2007, including serving as chair from 2002 to 2005.

His outstanding career background, combined with his experience as a student of this School, make him the perfect choice to continue the advances the School has made during the past several years.

I want to assure you that the Board of Managers took very seriously our decision to appoint a new leader who could build on the successes of Johnny O’Brien and his leadership team. We interviewed a wide range of candidates, and in the end, Dr. Colistra stood apart because of his career experience and knowledge of Milton Hershey School.

Dr. Colistra will begin his presidency August 3, and will hold a series of meetings with staff early in August.

Exciting...

Changes are coming. I'm just getting caught up with some reading on here...and ironically, I'm not surprised at the negativity posted previously. I'm looking at this from a positive side, Tony Colistra is a Milt. One of us...why keep the divide? Try and be positive. You don't know what he'll be like as president yet. Give the guy a chance!

I understand it was an international search...

There were several candidates interviewed.

bin Laden didn't get his application back in time. I guess it's that crappy mail service in Wazooistan.

Mahmoud I'm-in-a-Jihad is all a-tingle about this atomic power thing that he can't find time to mismanage another entity.

Michael Jackson is, well, dead.

Kim Jong-il is naming his own damn successor, thank you very much.

Fidel Castro thinks that all he has to do is reopen the orphanage in Central Hershey, Cuba (You could look it up).

Bill Clinton is too busy: "I got this sweet deal with Biden, see, every so often he says something to piss off one of our allies and 'Bama sends Hill out of town to repair the damage. Good for two weeks each time!"

Hillary Clinton: Permanently exiled to Thailand.

Joe Biden: Permanently exiled to Union Station. We should hope.

The last respondent was Vladimir Putin who had to withdraw at the last minute because he still has to be on call for any question Medvedev might...hey, wait a minute...

The joke of the century

Incompetent BOM put in one of their own. This will guarantee all the money feeders their jobs for 6 more years and then it will be handed over to Gurt. I hope there is a school left.
