MHSAA Florida Chapter Meeting
Here is the invite for our first Florida Chapter meeting.
MHSAA Florida Chapter Awarded!!!
Hello All,
On August 19, 2007 the Board of Directors of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association issued a new charter of our association to the state of Florida. I officially accepted our charter at Homecoming in Hershey on September 23rd. Now, alumni brothers and sisters here in Florida will have an opportunity to meet together as a unified group, to serve our alumni and alma mater, as well as remain a close knit part of our school family. Our association needs us right now. It needs active alumni of all ages and from all over, to secure the future of the MHSAA. With all of our help, our association will remain strong, independent, and continue to serve our alumni for many years to come. We should all feel proud to be an important part of the MHSAA.
We will be having our first meeting on Saturday November 10, 2007. It will begin at 4 p.m. with a social and cocktail hour, followed by an official meeting at 5 p.m. After the meeting, there will be hamburgers, hot dogs, and other food items available. Also, we will be electing the officers of our chapter following dinner. Following the election, I invite you all to join us for our first MHSAA Florida Chapter Texas Hold’em fundraiser tournament, to be held at 7 p.m. It’s going to be a fantastic evening.
We need to elect 7 officers to be the leadership of our chapter. The officers of our chapter will include; President, Vice President, Chapter Representative, Alternate Chapter Representative, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chaplain. You can view the responsibilities of each officer in our bylaws. (available from me upon request) Anyone interested in becoming a chapter officer should let me know as soon as possible so I can prepare the ballots, and introduce the candidates to the group during the social hour. I would like everyone to update your mailing, and e-mail addresses, as well as phone numbers. Please send me ideas for anything you may think would help us to have a great chapter i.e., fundraisers, events, meeting spots, etc. I sincerely appreciate all of your input and look forward to hearing from all of you, and seeing you in November!!!

Thanks everyone for the support. I wish everyone could make it for the meeting.
Of course I remember you Cindi. We used to sit next to each other in study halls, and stand in line next to each other to get our park passes and such, because our names started with "Cr".
Why don't you and BayouRunner hook up and drive to Tampa for the meeting? It's going to be alot of fun.
Our next meeting will be a little closer to you. It's going to be at The Villages.
Shalimar is a stone's throw from us! See Milts really are everywhere! Thanks for the post. We are in Crestview.
We live in Fort Walton Beach (okay, Shalimar to be a little more specific), how close are you?
I'd like to attend the meeting, but don't think I can make Tampa either, but I would really like to be an active part of the chapter?

I hope you have a great turn out, sounds like a great night planned,
Best of luck,
Hi Duane,
Not sure if you remember me, Cyndi (Crout) from 87. We're in florida, but a bit too far away from Tampa. We are way up in the panhandle, in Northwest FL, between Panama City and Pensacola. I think Tampa is about 9 hours drive away. Wish we could be there to congratulate you for making this happen!
Good Luck!
This'll be a success and you worked your butt off for it! Keep those of us not in the southern side of the Sunshine State posted. If I were still in FTL I'd cross the Glade (to the wrong side of the state) and attend. Congrats!

But November 10th is my daugther's boyfriend's birthday and I don't dare miss that. I will look for updates on here though, so keep us all posted! Again, congrats and good luck!
I am glad you remember me, I do remember standing in line with you, and having study hall together. (Did we ever really study), it was more like social hall for me! Sounds like you are doing very well.
