MHSAA Florida Chapter

I am going to start a Florida Chapter of the MHSAA. I need at least 15 names and addresses of alumni in Florida who would be interested in participating in exciting Florida chapter events, meetings, and fundraisers. Please contact me via e-mail or phone if you are interested.

I am currently trying to figure out how the Florida alumni are located in the state to hold meetings in areas where it will be easier for people to attend. I will be mailing out a letter soon to all Florida alumni notifying them of our first meeting early in November.
Great job. Where would this chapter be centrally located? My brother graduated a year after me and would like to become more involved with the alumni issues, but lives in Boca Raton, FL. If someone could fill me in on where you would plan on having meetings. Thanks, Todd

The MHSAA Board of Directors voted yesterday to award the State of Florida a chapter of the MHSAA. It was a unanimous decision.
I want to thank everyone involved in this undertaking, especially the people from Florida who responded to my requests for interest in a Florida chapter.
I believe I will be recieving the official charter at the annual business meeting at Catherine Hall(old Senior Hall) during Homecoming on Saturday.
I am very excited!!!

Just because there isn't a bunch of them it's ok. The few who chose to sign up are the ones who will make it great. Just ask Markus and look at this website. There are now quite a bit of band wagoneers.

It's been almost one week since I originally posted this. I've received responses from two people. Aren't there more Floridians out there reading this that would be interested in a Florida chapter?
Count me in. I'm in Fort Walton Beach, in the panhandle. Occassionally I get to either Melborn or Orlando as needed. Used to be in and out of Tallahassee several times a month, but don't get there much any more.
A couple of years ago I had the Alumni office send me a list of alumni in the Florida, Alabama, Mississippi area since all are much closer. I don't have it any more, but it was easy for them to pull at the time.
Have they given you anything like that? You might also consider Georgia, there used to be a few in the Valdosta area that would be close enough to join in.
Something in the Orlando/Melborne area would be good for me, I can come up with excuses to be there.
