Longest Thread Ever aka LTE
In this day and age I feel it's a tradition to have a LTE (Longest Thread Ever) So I feel compelled to start one. In case you don't know, almost anything goes in here. So post away!

I wanna go to homecoming also.
I have plans to be at homecoming this year. Anyone from class of 81 that remembers Ken McCurdy he will be coming with me. Hope to see everyone there.
Ok I didnt feel any earthquake so no excitement for me as usual. I'm ready for homecoming. I'm off that weekend and took off that Friday also. Will be working until 9 thurs night and thinking about sending my boys to my moms for the weekend :)
has been lots of fun. Got no one to send back to school but he is going on a trip to NYC Tues. for a concert. A whole week without having to drive him around. Can't wait.

You will be doing something for a long period of time,it's called relaxing. Try it,I bet you'll like it;maybe even a lot.

My original Knee Replacement surgery date was rescheduled to August 2, 2011. Due to getting clearance from all my doctors. I have way to many doctors. Had to get clearance from the Family, Heart, and Pulmonary doctors before takeoff with my Orthopedic Doctor. I do have clearance from all my doctors and am really ready to get this done. I have lost 40 pounds this year so far in preparing for this surgery. I am also losing weight so I can rid of some of these doctors I have. The weight loss will definitely help with the rehab after surgery. I have been in tremendous pain for the longest time, and still go about my daily routine with work and family. I should be off about 6-8 weeks, which I am also looking forward to. Cannot wait to get my mobility back and have a pain free normal day. Homecoming should be much better this year.
Looking forward to the return of the National Football League. Will give me time to relax and prepare for Fantasy Football this year. I am working on an Angry Birds Birthday Party Theme for my Grandson. Not a lot of Party stuff out there, so most of the stuff is being created by us, which is also fun. Any Ideas, I would be glad to here it.
Friday is my last day of work for awhile. Don't know what that's like. I haven't been off work for longer than 2 weeks, and that was to get married and honeymoon. I have been working full time since 2 days after I left the Milt, so this ought to be a challenge for me to not do anything for a long period of time. Wish me luck, as I am kinda getting nervous, but anxious to get it done at the same time. Take Care.

Thank you for mentioning my mom. She's got a rough road ahead of her...so all prayers are definitely appreciated. The diagnosis is stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones.

Hi everyone! Still busy busy busy but it is all good.
Been going to the gym since October. Wasn't see a big difference as far as the scale said. But for the past month or so I have been watching what I eat and letting the eliptical kick my derriere. Last time I lost weight I didn't notice and promised myself this time that I would take measurements but forgot UGH Yesterday I looked at myself and noticed a difference even if the scale is only saying I lost about 18lbs. So I called my mom...she took measurements of me before the cruise to make me a blouse. I measured myself last night and lost 5 1/2"in my hips!!! Also lost 2 inches around my ribs and only 1" in my waist but I'm happy! I'm now going to extend my gym membership so I can go to the gym near my house also not just to the one near work. This way I will be more apt to work out on my days off.
My boys are with their father until Saturday...lets just hope this last month didn't warp their minds and they don't act up when they get home UGH
Otherwise I have been working and cleaning. We now have the deck all powerwashed and pretty. Still working on my room....did some re-organizing there since Jim moved out. He seems to be doing ok. We talk once in awhile.
Also keep Jim, Cyndi and Rich's mom in your prayers. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and will need all she can get while fighting this. Hugs to the Crout kids!

Now I understand what you mean when you said "we use them for scissors."
We used a cross stitch fabric. I do alot of cross stitch and love Halloween themes so I make colors for upcoming projects.
As far as the clay. I use polymer clay and it is colored already. Sometimes I mix to get different colors. It requires baking at 275 for about 15 to 20 mins.

What do you do with the fabric? I'm always on the look out for different colors of fabric for quilts.
Did you paint the clay black,was it fired or did you let it air dry?
So I did week two of the exhibit. No money in it for me today and the money I made I bought fabric :) I had a good time and did something new so that is all that matters.
I got to hand paint some cross stitch fabric. I still need to take pics. I also did something new with clay. They have these glass pieces called flower frogs. They are old school glass with holes that they used to put at the bottom of vases to keep the flowers separated. Stitchers like to find them and use them for scissors. Sounds like a plan Chris. I really need a break from work. This is not my idea of a vacation, but I need to get this done. I'm sure the first few weeks will be pain, drugs, pain, drugs, pain drugs... But in the long run, has to be better than what it is now. I am looking forward to playing some Basketball, Football, and Baseball, with my grandsons in the future. I can't do that now, and i don't like it. Taking the trash out every week is a task for me right now. My wife and sons mow the grass, and do all the chores around the house. Again, I am a milt, and don't like that, but greatly appreciate how awesome they are. I like working in the yard and garden, but just can't do it right now. We kind of had to pass on all the vegetable gardens this year. Thank god for the Tomato Barn in Washington Boro, who has the sweetest tomatoes on earth, and all the other fruits and veggies as well.

Maybe that's why my knee is so worn out, maybe i played that game too much as a child. I know my grandsons race to get it when I play that game with them. I usually have to delegate different items to avoid the crash at the refrigerator. I am going to take 4 weeks off, and relax and rahab, and not worry about work. And if I feel ready to return, I will return.
The more shows you do the better 'cause it's a great way to advertise/sell your product.
So I did the show on Saturday. I didn't make a ton of money but it paid for what I spend and the gas money. I also had a great time :) I will be doing it again this Saturday.

Hello everyone. Just stopped by to check in. I really would hate to see themilt.com go away. I have made so many friends I never knew before themilt.com. Markus you have done a wonderful job of creating this site for milts. I have always appreciated your hard work, even with all the undeserved scrutiny and ridicule you had to deal with from a hand full of people, you handled it very professionally, and that makes you one of the truly good guys. You have always handled yourself with respect for others, and in the best interest of Milton Hershey. Thank you.
I am no longer 49.99, I am officially 50 now. And had the coolest surprise party for my birthday. My wife, family, and friends are awesome. They really made me feel how important i am to them. I am not one for self motivation or attention, so they really got me good. And turning 50 wasn't so bad. I got a New Ipad 2, and it is just awesome. The bad side of turning 50 is, I just scheduled a knee replacement for next month (July). I have been in severe pain for over a year now, wearing a special unloader brace to keep the bone off the bone and allow me to function every day. I will be out of commission for awhile, which i know will be very difficult for me, because I have a very busy job and life. My Daughter has been sick, and we have been helping to raise 4 and a 6 year old grandsons. I love them so much, but by the end of the day, I am exhausted. But that is part of being a good parent and grandparent. Love them unconditionally.
I really wish we could get this site motivated close to what it was before. Maybe on my time off, I can come up with some ideas to attract people back to this site. Again, I know i have met a lot of people here on this site that otherwise would have never met. And that is a good thing.

Actually I was smart enough to have one 8GB micro sd card in my camera. I still had plenty of room to take more pics! I really do have more also...they were on Gina's camera. I have just been too busy to upload them.
I'm getting ready to do an Exhibit and will be running a table to sell my beaded and clay things. I'm nervous and flustered and too busy and tired. Oh and it doesn't help stress wise that as of last Monday Jim and I aren't together anymore. It was a hard decision but I had to make it for me and my kids. He isn't a horrible person (don't want to send that message). It just didn't work out.
I can't wait until I can get some "me" time. Just will be way too busy over then next few weeks for that UGH

I am at fault too. I try to stop about every week to see if anything new has happened. Also when I find a classmate I refer them to here, and a few have joined but haven't said much after joining.

It's evident that you had a wonderful time. I know Cyndi said to take lots of pictures and you took 327. How many flash drives did you bring with? I felt like I was on the cruise with you.
I've watched the decline in users here with great sadness. At one time this site was really jumping and so many people came to post whatever. I don't know why it faded away; we Milts have a bond that Facebook or any other site just can't fully be shared through. I met so many wonderful friends that came out of MHS through our interactions here.
Markus, we owe you a debt of gratitude for creating TheMilt.com and I hope that you have derived satisfaction from what you did here. I also hope that we can keep in touch somehow. Your generosity in opening your home to me that time at HC was very enjoyable; I count you and your family as close friends. May God continue to bless and keep you and yours.
