Hi everybody!
Just wanted to stop in and give everyone an update (most hear all of this if they are on Facebook but will tell everyone anyhow)
I have been busy with the Mummers for the new year and then work and life in general. I did how ever win a cruise a couple of weeks ago! (most know) I work for Rite Aid and they are running a game called The Game of Life where when you buy stuff you get tickets. The tickets remind me of the monopoly game where you match the pieces to get a prize. For the cruise there are 2 ticket pieces and then you send them in for a sweepstakes. I sent in around 7 and I won one of 10 drawings for the Associates (they have one game for associates and one for customers). I received my prize package in the mail on Thursday. It contained a document folder...sort of reminds me of a diploma folder/case and it has the name Carnival on it. I yelled to Gina..."hey look! I graduated to Carnival!"
In the folder was the voucher for a 7 day cruise and also a check for $1200 to cover round trip airfare along with any oil overage charges. I took the check along with $800 to the bank and opened a 12 month CD. I don't plan on going until next Feb anyhow because I don't have a passport and want to go when it is winter here. So I should have $2200 to get the airfare and have some fun. I have decided to fly to San Juan and take the Carnival Victory Eastern Carribbean cruise. I can't wait...so excited!
The boys are doing very well at the Milt. Being at the Milt has done them a world of good. They have changed so much! I keep in close contact with the house parents so that we are all on the same page. Alex's housefather asked if I would be a guest speaker to help the parents for new admissions. I told him to throw my name in there and would be glad to help if they need me.
My daughter Gina is hanging in there. I think she is realizing that she made a big mistake by going to live with her father. She hates it. But then again she won't admit it to me (just my mom) and she is too stubborn to move back here.
That's about it on my end. How the heck is everyone else doing?
...so I'm taking vacation days here and there for long weekends when something comes up. Next Friday I'll be riding up to the Harley Rendevous near Schenectady, NY. There's potentially a week in London, but that's still up in the air.
sitting around Myrtle Beach with our feet in the ocean for a few days
Can't wait!!!!! woo hooo!!! who else is going places for vacation???
you work so hard. Put your feet up and close your eyes.
Must be nice the sit around with your feet in the ocean! One thing I miss about being in central pa is Wildwood and AC. They are alot further now.
Vikki, I'm doing well here. I worked for Block as a tax preparer from January to April and now am just being a beach bum for a time. I went out to Wai'anae on the west coast of O'ahu on Friday and had lunch from a small market that sells hot foods from Polynesia other than Hawaiian food. It was very tasty and I enjoyed seeing some of my old haunts while I was there (I lived with friends in that area for a time in 1982).
I'm happy you are doing well and am also glad that I was able to see you at Homecoming - it may be quite a while before I can make it back again.
Take care and say Hi to everyone there when you see them.
Thanks all.
Good job Vikki! I am sure you deserve it.
Congratulations!!!!!
Vikki,
Congratulations on your promotion. WoooooHooooo.

Another update for any of those that are reading this thread:
I received my promotion to SR3 at work last week. The promotion was put in over 6 months ago and finally went thru as of May 2nd. Woohoo!
Hope everyone is well. Linda, I will be making another appointment with Gina some time soon to get this mop cut :) Murf, hope the job is still going great. Keoni, how's Hawaii treating you? Harry, I'm actually glad McNabb is gone. We have basically a new team now, time to get them in gear.
I have a bit of an update. I semi quit smoking. Sounds weird but that is what I'm calling it for now. I've changed from regular cigs to electronic cigarettes. I'm getting the nicotine but not the tar and all the extras that come with the normal light and burn cigs. I started last tues night and have not had a regular cig since then. I can already feel the difference. I'm not wheezing when I go to bed. And my already keen sense of smell is even sharper and I'm probably going to be certifiably insane from it soon enough. This planet stinks! I no longer smell like a cig either. Whew! I have always liked smoking but didn't like the smell and after effects (breath, dry mouth, wheeze) it left behind. So I'm still addicted to the nicotine and sometimes want to just grab a cig but I'm doing good with this so far and it will save me a bundle of money!

to be so close to the ocean, but I'm not going to rub it in. The heck I'm not! Nah nah!
Too bad the old Hershey Park pool is no more. That place was awesome on a hot summer afternoon! And I lived at Broad Acres, just a stone's throw away. How many of you remember it? Now, they have the water park, but I don't know much about it.
