Did you ever "hook out"?

The best one was a month before graduation in 81, when my roommate Preston and I came back to Willow Wood too drunk to sneak back in, we slept in the wagon, Our House Parent, who will remain nameless, told us to get up, get a shower and get moving.
We spent the rest of the day waiting for him to lower the boom on us, then at about eight o’clock at night he called us into his apartment, looked at us and said, "What the Kucf" laughed a little and said get to bed, barn comes early and you’re not graduates yet...
That was it.
Man, we were lucky.
And then there was the time 'Some Guys" from Willow Wood got hammered and broke into the golf courses shack, stole some golf carts and turfed up the course.
Man we did some stupid stuff.

i definetely remember sneaking out i also remember
getting caught taken back to cloverdale and soon as
the HPs went back to bed we left again....
. I
also remember a certain blue eyed devil waking me
up in the middle of the night when he snuck in to
see me.

I kept it right near my bed. I even almost took off a couple of heads with it too.

is pretty impressive! I could never squeeze out enough to cross the T and dot my i's..BUT I'm a work in progress!!

(MAN manual: Chapter VII, Section 7, Paragraph 18) Guess you hadn't read that far ahead yet?
I got where I could write my name in snow neater than I could write it on paper. Plus dot the i.

The security came to be. It was a rather large guy whom my houseparents knew as 'TINY'. He patrolled in a Chevy Blazer with MHS SECURITY on the doors. I've heard a story of a milt who hooked out, houseparents found his bed empty, called 'Tiny' who arrived and fell asleep waiting for the kid to return. The kid made it back to his bed while 'Tiny' slept out in the patrol vehicle.
When did they start having spartan security? We had it rough, there wasn't some person in a vehicle that came around looking for you. You had to beware of the houseparent hiding outside waiting for you to be where you shouldn't. Especially if you was on your way back because they already knew you was gone.

I almost never hooked out and only returned back to the student home drunk a few times on a Friday night.
A few is less than 25 right?

Raerae, peeing our names in the snow is a write of passage for guys (MAN manual: Chapter IV, Section 47, Paragraph 12). Besides, men have been doing it for thousands of years
& the cold air on the 'tender parts' feels kinda...ok nevermind..
I mean c'mon, if you could sucessfully write your entire name in the snow, you'd try at least once!

Robert, you forgot to mention a few things....first did you NOT PEE your names in the snow also? Hmmmm, can't imagine how you two morons got caught.
Second, I believe you hooked out to another student home and told the person you came to see all about what was outside the student home (in the bushes, ie the red bucket) The subs saw you, but didn't turn your butt in for whatever reason.

Yup, I did hook out. Despite being student home president, leadership society, distinguished honor roll and perfect merits...I failed my houseparents twice..didn't get caught..well sorta..Oh man the guilt of it......
1st time, I left Willow Wood for Foxdale, was supposed to meet a friend from Bloomingdale along the way..I waited at the meeting point for two hours before spartan security almost nabbed me. I ran back to Crestlane in an attempt to mislead the security. IT WORKED! While security was waking up the Mr & Mrs Miller, I crossed Crest Lane and went back to bed. I read the no show the riot act the next day...his excuse: 'I didn't hear my alarm going off'.
Two nights later he showed up and we made it to Foxdale for a couple hours of heavy making out with our sweeties!
We ran home as it was beginning to get light out, dodged security arriving safely at our student homes. The next day my sweetie gave me Washington, DC, I guess in the heat of the moment, I nibbled a bit too aggressively on her neck leaving marks.
Needless to say, she wore turtle neck sweaters to school for the remainder of the week...
Months later, I went on the MIAMI PROJECT trip with 14 other milts, to Homestead FL to rebuild homes destroyed by hurricane Andrew. It was then I found out Mr. Imler know I hooked out, saw me leaving but didn't bust me. He did bust my ballz about it though.

I forgot about that! You crazy liitle thing. You'd think that with all the times we hooked out we would have been pro's at it and would have never gotten caught!!! I think Trailways was a bad thing for a lot of us!

I'm new to this web site and reading through some of these totally brought back memories! That night when everyone hooked out was the final straw for me, Sabrina and Jenni. We had been doing it for a long time and they gave us plenty of warnings I guess it didn't help that we were VERY loud and were not discreet about anything. The "New Wave Dames"
I forgot about that!

Hello everybody....I remember hooking out several times while at the Milt
I remember Bill Jester and I leaving Plainfield and walking through a field full of snow....don't remember what the name of the girls student home was....but, got caught. You see, I did a dumb thing...I had broken my leg during my junior year on the soccer team. I had a full leg cast and hooked out. So, the houseparent only needed to follow the footstep...and drag mark back to our student home.....talk about mistakes...
.
Geez, then I remember hooking "back in" the Milt a year after graduation to see a certain person. It was my third or fourth time seeing her and Troy Proctor, Adam Wise and Rich Troisi were with me. We got caught by the Sparten Security Officer.....
. I was sitting in the pricipals office the next day....and I wasn't even a student at the milt.....What memories!!

Don,
I thought you were nabbed "running away" with Greg, Phillip Backa and Rick (My brother) from Harris. Maybe not, its been awhile.
When I got to Fosterliegh, Stanly Morgan, Rich Coborn, my brother and myself used to hook out all the time to smoke. And Mark Dodd once in a while. None of us, that I can recall, ever got caught.
Wish I had never got hook on the dangit things, took 10 years to quit.
David Lichtenstein (Satterwhite)

yeah but your students cringe at the name of
it but though i have thought about it i never did it and i deff wouldnt do it in a TL house they have far to many cameras. and if you think student home alarms are annoying TL ones a seriously eardrum piercing!

Well I'm sure this might be a surprise to many, even my sister. When I was at Ridgeway in senior division, I hooked out quite a bit. Never got caught either. It all started I wanna say my freshmen year, maybe sophomore. But me and some guys wanted to go back out after Friday night town privilege. Don't ask me what for, maybe to meet some girls we had met at Hershey Park or something. I remember being at the Hardee's by the AM/PM mini market by the park and walking through the drive through to get food because we were hungry. On our way back to Ridgeway, we cut across a field between some homes and heard someone yelling at us. At first we started to run, but then the dude told us to stop and come up to his place and have some fun. So we went back to check it out. We ended up staying till like 5:30 am drinking beer and watching porno's with a bunch of hippies(guys and girls). We made it back in time to get woken up for morning chores. Needless to say, whenever our substitute houseparents were on duty, we made as many trips to the hippie house as we could. What a blast.

For those who were in the class of 86, if you care to remember our junior year, Rich and a few others used to call me, Sharon Black, and I can remember who else, "the buzzard society". Gosh they could not stand us, and vice versa, however that all changed our senior year....How funny to remember those days, and the silly names, and arguements.......jeez, but that is what makes it so fun as adults to see each other again and reminisce.

Saw rich at 06 hc, and would have swore that he could pass as a wise guy (NJ/NY mobster).... accent, clothing, manarisims and even the union rep. :-] it was easy to see that everything was going good for him...

Oh yes he was a player! I am sure he is still a handsome devil...!! And Rich, well he will always be a good looking guy. When I live in Youngstown Ohio, I would see him alot. He was very nice, and still very good looking.

Quite the Players!
Once to see Charlie Black when I was a sophmore....I remember ducking and weaving in the corn fields, dressed dark clothing. And the other time when I was a senior, I went to see Tony Matos, and my partner that night was Sharon Black, she went to see Rich Troici (forgive me for spelling the last name incorrectly).
It is funny to look back on now....I really had NO idea what you were really supposed to do when you hooked out...I was so innocent..unreal! I thought it was only to make out...go figure, right!

I must admit I did hook out once but I got scared and came back very quickly.
I did have a girl hook out to my student home(Glendale) once. She and a few Silverbrook girls (who I will not name came) and I really didn't like the girl who came to see me so I sat in the stair tower right in front of

Dean Gray's room who was our student home president. We got busted by my Houseparents and the girls got 15&15 and I got 30 indefinite. Life just isn't fair.
We cannot go back and make a new beginning, but we can start to make a new ending.
