i can tell you aren't as bitter since the phillies won the ws, but take your blinders off. i don't care if mcnabb threw for 4000 yards that game, he had 3 wide open opportunities that he flat out missed. again...aikman, montana, manning, brady....those guys wouldn't have missed 3 throws like that. that is why the iggles will come up short as long as he is their qb and reid is the coach.

but i watched the game....you can't disprove a single thing i said. the iggles win the game DESPITE the defense, if mcnabb is anywhere near close on 2 out of those 3 throws.

i agree the defense got schooled in the first half, but mcnabb still blew 3 basically wide open opportunities that i stated.....manning, brady, aikman, montana would have hit 2 of those if not all 3 in stride and guess what, if mcnabb did that...iggles would have won in spite of their defense.

to a point....mcnabb had 3 different plays (baskins, lewis and curtis) that if he hits them anywhere near in stride they have no one in front of them. all three plays he had the time to throw.
and unc, now the eagles are home watching too, so i guess it is irrelevant when the cowboys were sitting since neither they nor the iggles are in the super bowl.
by the way, i will be rooting for the NFC as i always do. go cards.
I'm not a big McNabb fan and accuracy has always been his issue but the primary reason that the Eagles lost to the Cardinals was the play of the defense.
They couldn't get to Warner in the 1st half and when the offense finally did click in the 2nd half and came back from a 18 point defecit to go ahead 25-24; the defense couldn't get a stop when it was needed the most.
As hard as it is to believe, Johnson was outcoached. The defense was the problem. It seems like every time the Eagles get in a big game the linebackers have failed to deliver. You can't blame McNabb for that. I still can't believe they played Demps the whole game. He made many bad plays.
The best of all was Dallas was home watching the game.
Every post game analysis that I heard yesterday said that he came up short many times....
if you listened to the analysis of the game, you would have heard what i just wrote below. he had big play opportunities that he missed big time and probably cost them the game.
stop being such philly homer and realize they came up short yet again.
he had several times where receivers had wide open space in front of them and he was way off target with his throws.

So, since that is the case, what evidence could one possibly use to compare the two teams and conclude that the Steelers are the superior team. Seems to me that a head-to-head contest would be more revealing than looking at common opponents. The Steelers are a good team, but I think that the Birds match up well against them.

The Eagles are playing with house money..........................I'm flying to Phoenix on Sunday morning and heading to the game right from the airport. I believe this game will be a lot closer than the Thanksgiving evening blowout (48-20 Eagles win) but if Eagles run a balanced offense and get pressure on Warner, they should win.
The Steelers/Ravens will be a dogfight but expect the Steelers to come out on top.
Chuck, the reason you can say, with a straight face, that the Steelers are better than the Eagles is because the season is 16 games long, not one. One game offers anecdotal evidence. 16 gives you a bit more data. Eagles lost 6 games and tied the Bungles. That's how anyone can claim the Steelers are better.

I'm not sure how you can claim the Steelers to be better than the Birds. Check the stats from the Week 3 matchup between the two teams. Final score: Eagles 15, Steelers 6. The Eagles had 8 sacks on Big Ben, held Parker to 30 yards rushing, and gave up only 180 total yards!
seeing that we sucked it up there this season, not much to say. the eagles have a nice little streak.... and if they get by the cards, it will end in bitter disappointment in the superbowl yet again. they needed a lot of luck to even get into the playoffs....the steelers and ravens are both better teams so it looks like another afc win.

All I will say about the tragic Terrible Towel incident is that a few years ago the Bengals did something similiar. Then they had to see the Steelers again in the playoffs. Carson Palmer tore his knee up and the franchise has been spiraling downward since. The Towel God is a vengeful God.

The Eagles won another playoff game yesterday and since it has been awhile for you all I just wanted to let you know what it feels like to win a playoff game. It feels pretty darn good.
...and before you get all "We got 5 rings" on me just remember that I know that you don't even remember what it feels like to win one of them. It has been way too long.

It looks like his Cowboys did their usual December swoon. I went to the game and just wanted to see the Birds win and knock the Cowboys out of the playoffs. We got some help (from Oakland & Houston) and get to play another day. The Birds are playing with "house money" at this point so I'll just enjoy the ride regardless of how long.
