After an insightful and eloquent explanation to Tom Brokaw this morning, Republican icon Colin Powell stated that he will be voting for Barack Obama. Every American should hear what he had to say.

Vote for Change!

Give me a break

Powell supports abortion, "limited" gun control, and affirmative action. He was a "token" Republican for years. No true Republican is in favor of abortion, gun control, or affirmative action. You are arguing w/ yourself.

Tell me any other prominent Republicans on the wrong side of these issues.

So, anything you say is the truth until proven wrong?

Really? What Democrat has Colin Powell voted for in the past? Please site your sources.

My sources would be his book. I will get to the library when I can, but you are welcome to research on your own as well.

So, anything you say is the truth until proven wrong? I'm afraid it doesn't work that way.

FIRST COLIN POWELL, NOW…

Ken Adelman is a lifelong conservative Republican. Campaigned for Goldwater, was hired by Rumsfeld at the Office of Economic Opportunity under Nixon, was assistant to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld under Ford, served as Reagan’s director of arms control, and joined the Defense Policy Board for Rumsfeld’s second go-round at the Pentagon, in 2001. Adelman’s friendship with Rumsfeld, Cheney, and their wives goes back to the sixties, and he introduced Cheney to Paul Wolfowitz at a Washington brunch the day Reagan was sworn in.

In recent years, Adelman and his friends Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz fell out over his criticisms of the botching of the Iraq War. Still, he remains a bona-fide hawk (“not really a neo-con but a con-con”) who has never supported a Democrat for President in his life. Two weeks from now that’s going to change: Ken Adelman intends to vote for Barack Obama. He can hardly believe it himself.

Google "Ken Adelman supports Obama" you will find many many sources.

Propaganda

Ugh. Colin Powell would describe his own political viewpoint as "pragmatic," not conservative or liberal. He's voted for Dems before, he'll likely vote on both sides of the ticket again. That Colin Powell finally poked his head out of his hole to try and screw the Republican party a few weeks before the election should not be surprising. He lost an inordinate amount of face/credibility when he was used by War Criminal Bush and Company to make the case against Iraq at the UN.

It was moving. It was eloquent. It was POLITICS. Give me a break, Chuck.

Pretty powerful stuff

Powell give a well thought out and articulate endorsement. Colin Powell being a Republican and a conservative makes it even more telling of the situation in America.
