Arrested former teacher found working at cemetery
Just a heads up to concerned folks about that Michael Culp (he was a drum teacher) who was arrested back in 2007 for having sex with an underage student of his, he is working as a cemetery sales person at Cumberland Valleys in Carlisle. I was not pleased to see he is still around the Central PA area.
A witch hunt as exactly what I was thinking could happen.
He's probably paid for what he did, don't turn it into a vendetta!
he's in a position to be around young kids again or because you don't want him to have a job? Mr.Culp has probably lost his teaching license and he still lives in the area because that's where he's from. I'm not defending what he did,I don't even know who he is,but if he has a job that doesn't put him alone with under aged kids then let it be;unless you want your taxes supporting him while he collects welfare payments.
I would report it. I cannot fathom that his employer knows what he has done otherwise they would not want someone who preys on young girls to represent their facility. How did he get this job? This is why companies need to do background checks. Again, I would report it to someone. He is a creep and I cannot believe that he is working with grieving families, its disgusting. I wonder if his manager there knows? There is no way in the world I allowed my mother to do business at this cemetery with him there. I am telling everyone I know who may want to be buried at that cemetery to go elsewhere.
up to you.
Well, I work at the corporate office of the owners of this location in Cumberland Valley, small world. Geez, what to do or who to tell...or do I just leave it alone.

I did notify my manager about this. My manager then contacted the administrator at Cumberland Valley. The manager at the location did not know, as to much surprise he did not list anything regarding this legal matter. Furthermore, we do run background checks. However they are only for the area that the place of business is located(we own 350 locations throughout the United States & Puerto Rico). Since he was arrested in Upstate New York, it was not listed on the criminal background check that was processed. I haven't followed it up further, however the manager was very grateful that we let her know. His responsibilities include going to / in prospective buyers of our services. Granted, not a great chance he could be alone with a minor, but always a chance. What if he showed up to a house with a 15 year old girl with no one home, potentially a liable situation for my company? We are a publicly traded company & the second largest owner & operator of Cemeteries & Funeral Homes in the country. My company had a right to know the potential liability of employing this fellow.
