Amazing elephant. Is it true?
I checked snopes.com and they have no info.
Do you think that this is real or a trick?
When Markus posted this, I had no doubt that it was true!
I went to the website and saw that all of the paintings were sold out. I requested information on them, and signed up to receive their newsletter, which I do.
For those who didn't believe, maybe this will help

Don't settle and it won't suck!!!!!!
We love our house and making it all our own. We love the blood, sweat and tears. It just takes longer when you are paying for it yourself instead of having someone hand you the money whenever you say "mom, I need this, mom, I need that"
So, the kids asked why we weren't stylish.....we said "because we make sure you are!!!!!"
We kinda liked that response!!!
I am saving for a house so I haven't been spending on any of that stuff lately either. Sometimes it sucks being a grown up!

the barn, and the yard, and have our disposable income to blow on what we want again, we will go back to the day when he spends his on antique pinball machines and estate sales and I go shopping at places like the Basket Warehouse and 10,000 Villages!!!!
It'll happen honey, I promise it will!!!!
I'm really sad on this kinda thing but in 6 years have maybe purchased 3 things. NOW Philly AIDS Thrift and the BookTrader on Bainbridge which give money to their respective charities Ive bought inumerous times.
Do you purchase from them everyday? That is the question Lewis!

Go past ours nearly everyday.
Really? How cool is that? Lucky!

My old boss (even though she was crazy) gave me a gift from their store once. It was a little pin of a woman made out of a coke can. It's really very beautiful.

There's one not far from us, in Ephrata!!!!
Amy - there is a store called Ten Thousand Villages that sends supplies, etc. to various poor villages in different countries and they make the crafts, etc. and whatever money they're sold for goes back to that village to help with clothing, food, water, schooling, etc. It's an amazing organization. They have shops down here in the DC area, but I'm sure that you could go online to check them out!

I mean, I have a refrigerator, which I could find space amongst my own childrens art for as well, however, it's the mere fact that an elephant did it!!!!!!
I'm serious, you should see our house, my collection, etc. I would have to say I was obsessed!!!!
I have many I could sell you that my nephews and nieces did for just 1/2 the price of theirs.
I thought you meant the link I posted to the elephant paintings..... ummmm now I'm lost....
just kidding.
Thanks Steve!!!!!!
See!!!! Why are you two trying to confuse me?!?!??!
Steve I think she was referring to the LINK in the watermark on the video I posted. Right Amy?
I'm so easily confused!!!!
I'm not Markus.... I posted the paintings site....
That is a GREAT site!!!! Unfortunately all of the paintings I was interested in are sold out. However, I contacted them to see when/if there would be more done. I hope!!!!
I love Free Trade sites and shops, just as I would much rather buy from a mom and pop than I would from a chain!!!!!
What's really cool, is I already have a Sea Grass purse from Cambodia. It was brought back to me from Cambodia by a friend who was born there.
Anyone who knows me KNOWS that I
elephants!!!!!! They are EVERYWHERE in our house!!!!! I have been in
with these creatures since I was in elementary school!!!!!
They are BRILLIANT animals, with AMAZINGLY incredible dexterity in their trunks, and an insatiable will to learn. Do I think it's real? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I'm going to check it out to see if we can afford one, because if we can, it's going on my birthday list!!!!!!
Know I saw this somewhere but obviously can't say if it's that.
Time to call in Adam and Jamie.
it was at the Nuremberg zoo went there when I was stationed there. That elephant painted like the eles. shown on nat geo, not like the video above. I think it is bologna....
That could be the elephant over in the German Zoo that taught the elephant to paint from a very young age. More or less cognizant research and a way to relieve the boredom for the animal. It is a true story and not a fabrication. I've seen this in a few art magazines and Steve is correct for it being on National Geo.
Btw...Mythbusters LOVE it!
I have seen elephants painting on national geo channel. But nothing to the expertise you see here. Here is the nat geo link on the story LINK
and a link to their painting being sold online LINK , as you see they are just as good as paintings done by a 3 yr old. As they say on myth busters...plausible.

It sucks when an animal has more talent then me!
