Aloha from O'ahu

I just saw that I mis-spelled Linda's name in the original post!
Anyway, to answer your question, Linda, I live in a rooming house (8 other guys here - some retired, some still working). The house is about a mile from the waterfront in the Nu'uanu section of town. The closest beach is at Ala Moana Park right next to Waikiki. It's probably about 3 miles or so from here. I haven't been in swimming yet, believe it or not. Been busy working at Block doing taxes and riding the bus around the island getting re-acquainted with all the spots I visited in the past. This morning I took a ride out through Kailua on the windward side to Waimgroundhogholeo and Sea Life Park. I haven't been to that part of O'ahu for almost 30 years!
While waiting for the other bus to take me back downtown, I saw a lot of hang gliders riding the winds over the mountains. Great sight! Then on the bus back, I was able to catch a faint glimpse of Molokai island across the channel from here (about 17 miles) I'm really loving living here (can you tell?
)
Anyway, I'm glad to have this site to stay up with all that's going on back east. I hope you didn't get socked too bad with the snow.
One final thing, when you eat PA Dutch food, think of me - it'll be a long time till I get scrapple, etc. again!

Great to hear from you and thank you for thinking of me. Wish I could send some of this nice weather over to PA and NJ - they could surely use it!
Anyway, say hello to the other Milts who know me in those parts when you see them, OK?
Aloha for now.

Keoni,
I was just thinking about you today and wondering when you were going to check in from the island.
I am glad to hear from you and that you are doing well. Thanks for posting the picture of your digs.
It's not that cold here and it just makes us stronger from having to endure it.
Rock on my friend!

Geeze, where'd everbody go? I leave NJ and all the denizens of TheMilt.com disappear!!
Anyway, I'm now living in Honolulu and am still working for H&R Block, this year preparing tax returns rather than doing computer work.
I won't bore you with descriptions of the great weather out here - temps in the 70's, sunshine and warm trade winds - I know that would cause severe stress as you shiver in the 20's and 30's with snow, etc.
I've attached a picture of the house where I live and will try to get some other shots as I can.
Anyway, ya'll come back and lets get this site rockin again like it used to, OK?
Aloha especially to Murf and Linds, two great people!
