A trip down memory lane....
Hi!
I found this site while doing research on leadership for a paper I am writing for my doctorate. What a trip down memory lane. I have not been back to MHS for almost 20 years and I think I have to make the drive down soon.
Anyways, I am trying to track down a few former (?) employees who made a serious difference in my life and I am wondering if anyone knows what happened to them and how to reach them?
First, Mr. and Mrs. Jones. They were the relief houseparents and dairyman at Green Acres around 1979 to 1983.
Second, Mr. and Mrs. Gallo. The houseparents of Ridgeway around 1983.
Thanks,
-Chris Molnar '83
thirty three years have past before I had made it back to MHS for a visit. And even tho so much were still the same I found it really hard not finding my old house parents or my old teachers not there. The buildings were the same from when I left, Canalview was still the same, Senior Hall the same, even the pond that I ran a trapping line at behind Canalview was still there and even the burning barrow across the street from the student home was still there. Where we would sneak a smoke while burning the trash. Every thing seemed to stand still in time. As I pulled into the driveway to turn my car around I was looking for Mr or Mrs Edgin to come out of the house and tell me to get my but inside and change into my house clothes or something. But that was what was Missing.. I knew no one....
Chris, I'm glad you had a good time with the Mr. and Mrs. Gallo. I THINK I remember you, though age has really stripped me of hair and memory. That being said, if they made a big impact on you, you were absolutely in the minority. Those folks were crazy, no offense.
Of course you remember Chris Molnar you use to be his favorite whipping boy! His Acne was terrible & you reminded him every fricken day Dude! Man your Memory is conveniently vague when you want it to be! All bets are off now!
Well i had the Gallo's at Ridgeway also. The home is now a legal office. But it stiil looks very much the same. The Gallo's retired. I think they live in Palmyra now. I'm not real sure. They were very tough houseparents. You always knew when you were on Mrs. Gallo's Bad list because she would call you her little angel. And she hated it when you clanged your silverware on your plate, and talked too loud at the table. Other than that, they were pretty good houseparents.Mr. Gallo really showed me a lot of respect, because when I came to Senior division, I never let the upperclassmnen push me around. I got into a lot of fights, and beat up quite a few people. He told me my senior year, close to graduation time, that he, as well as the other kids in the home, that he respected me for it. Anyway, Mike Yoder, class of '88, might know more about them. He kept in touch with them a little, after graduation. He, and his wife, are houseparents now at the school.
Bill and Sue Jones were at Green Acres when I graduated in 84. I believe he may still be employed by the school in some capacity. I believe I saw a recent picture of him somewhere on this site.

Thanks! I remember you as well. Hope things have been good for you. It's amazing to "see" how people are doing after all these years. Reminds me, I have to get a recent picture.

I remember you from Cross Country. Good luck with your doctorate!

My Best Memories were after eating a roast beef lunch on sundays I would craw to the top of the straw mound, sneak in a cig, than lay there listening to the rain on the barn I would fall asleep till someone would come up and wake me for barn chores. It just didn;t get any better than that......
