80's movies
Time Bandits
Much better version of the battle of the wits scene in The Princess Bride than the one below.
Not sure if this was an 80's movie or not but I watched it over the weekend and realized that Jeremy Piven should marry me. PCU! Anyone remember that movie? I freaking love it!

PCU was GENIUS! I loved that movie...Especially John Favreau playing a stoner!
Was one of my favorites.
This had to be my all-time favorite 80's movie. It was a cult classic. Bruce Leroy and Sho'nuff. This scene was probably one of the funniest in the movie.
Porkys?
Bobby Carr, I am 100% with you on that one!!! I love that one too!
I do also love Stripes and one of my all time faves
"IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER
IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER
IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER
IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER
IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER"
OH YEAH MEATBALLS!
We are the C.I.T.s so pity us.
The kids are brats; the food is hideous.
We're gonna smoke and drink and fool around.
We're nookie-bound!...
We are the North Star C.I.T.s
One of the best campfire songs ever!!!!!
Only the original I don't watch the other ones.
Have some favorites sorry about the repeats:
My number one and two all time fave movies of all time are from the 80s:
1) ET - Had to be a 10 yo boy in suburbia when this came out. I think my friends and I saw it first run at LEAST 25 times between first run and its year at the Majestic not far from our house. (At a buck a pop + $3 for "treats" it was a great way of gettin us out of the house).
2) Driving Miss Daisy - Can't more random than that but love Jessica Tandy and the original touring show which I saw in Hershey. It also reminds me of my dear grandmother, if there were a real person it'd be Mary, oy even near her dying day she asked "go charm the girls". Crying just remembering that last scene and fade out.
The Soundtrack Movies:
Footloose (used to know most of the lines too)
Flashdance
Top Gun (C'mon "Danger Zone" and ladies the Volleyball scene with "Playing With the Boys")
Ghostbusters
Back to the Future (1 and 2 - ummm 3 sucked)
Karate Kid
Teenage Movies:
FERRIS BUEHLER (I LOVE *bold face* *underscore* this movie!)
Breakfast Club
Sixteen Candles
(fill in the other John Hughes)

Real Genius
Top Secret, yeah i know shut it!
I have other faves I just can't think of them right now.
"Am I going mad or did I hear the word think escape your lips? I didn't hire you for your brains you hippopotamic land mass."
"And you! Friendless, brainless, hopeless! Do you want me to send you back to where you were? Unemployed! in Greenland!"
"I will just have to get myself a new giant."
"We'll never survive!
You are just saying that cause no one ever has. What are the terrors of the fire swamp? The fire, there is a popping sound proceeding each of those, so we can easily avoid those. And the lightning quick sand, you were clever enough to find that.
What about the ROUS's?
The rodents of unusual size? I don't believe they exist."
"My brains, his steel, and your strength, and a little head jiggle is supposed to make me happy...hmm?"
"Fezzik, rip off his arms. Oh, you mean this gate key."
"To the pain! First I cut off your arms, and then your legs. Then I cut out your left eye followed by your right.
And then my ears I understand lets get on with it.
NO! Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why. So you can hear every scream from every babe saying, dear god what is that thing! To the pain means I leave you in freakish misery."
not mad as angry, but rather crazy mad from the dizzying intellect.. till the point of banging your head into a wall again.
Janet and i love that movie too, specially from the point of quoting the two favor statements....
"I don't think that word means what you think that means"
"never go in against a Sicilian (the daddy) when death is on the line"
and then there is the one i use in public with the kids
"as you wish" knowing how teens can't stand there parent telling them that they love them in front of there friends.....
I love that scene.
some of the ones from the 80's that i remember
Footloose
Poltergeist
Any of the Steven Kings (books to movies)
Cuju
Christine
Carrie
and the first one to start the actors most known movie quote.
Arnold's "I'll be back" The Terminator
Clint- watching that seen from Princess Bride over and over again might make you ![]()
Jonathan Pryce - Pirates of the Caribbean (Gov. Weatherby Swann)
Robert De Niro
Katherine Helmond - Everybody Love Raymond (Debra's Mother)
Ian Holm - Lord of The Rings (Bilbo Baggins)
Bob Hoskins - Hook (Smee)
Watching the movie "Fame" in Founder's Hall?
If so, it was me up in the booth running it. My punishment for getting caught smoking.
Crazy movie!
Steel Magnolias - loved that movie! In fact, Linda made reference to it in another thread. I don't know who I liked the most in that one, but Olympia Dukakis had some really funny lines, like "If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, come sit by me!" And Sally Fields gave a really great performance in the scene just after the graveside service - it almost made me cry with it's emotional content. And Drum's retort to Ouiser about the cake slice was priceless!
What do you think about it?
Night Of The Comet
http://imdb.com/title/tt0087799/
overflowing with 80's cheese and has one of my all time fave quotes:
"I'm not crazy, I just don't give a f---!"
p.s.
The Lost Boys
'nuff said.
I loved that movie, and Breakin the movie about breakdancing that was really hot at the time. I remember the superman and starwars movies being popular. One of my favorites was St. Elmos fire and anything with Rob Lowe in it or of course The Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio, i had a lot of favorites. With so many hotties, i couldn't pick just one!
Then there is also Cocktail with Tom Cruise
that movie.
I have to agree with you. I own it.
Always thinking of the more obscure stuff.
But, my all time favorite 80s movie is The Princess Bride.
The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. And of couse Revenge of the Nerds.
WHERE DO YOU GET THIS STUFF??? That was hilarious!
Not sure if this was an 80's movie or not but I watched it over the weekend and realized that Jeremy Piven should marry me. PCU! Anyone remember that movie? I freaking love it!
