here's how it goes, you add three words (for some of you slower folk, that is 3) to go along with the last persons 3 words to keep a running story going. Keep it clean (well, sort of Sticking out tongue ) it can be really funny. I'll start it off:

one dreary night

It sounds scrumptous.
My holiday season is gonna be good. I didn't have to wear a winter coat today
'cause it was so warm out.
Can't wait to see the pictures.

Whoopie Pie Festival

Chris,

Down here in Strasburg PA, they have a Whoopie Pie Festival every year. 100 different kinds of whoopie pies for sale. And you can Shoot Whoopie Pies from a Giant Sling Shot at targets. They also have the worlds largest whoopie pie. Which is like 6 feet in diameter. I will have to dig out the pictures for you. It was a very interesting festival for sure. See for yourself at the following website: whoopiepiefestival.com

Hope all is good up North. Have a wonderful holiday season.

whoopie pies right

I have an Amish community up here and I found whoopie pies for sale. They tasted sooo good.
People in line had no idea what they were. I bought 4 and was in heaven.

Lemon Sponge Pie

Went to the Washington Boro Tomato Festival. I had to have a slice of Lemon Sponge Pie for Keoni. It was very good.
The line for Tomato Sandwiches was a continuous line all day long. They were selling tomato sandwiches for 2.50 each. Unbelievable. However these are the best tomatoes int he world.

Don't make Pies

I don't make pies. I count on the Amish Community for that. LOL

A Straw sure would be more like it after a trip like that. But should still be very tasty.

I like this Homemade Ice Cream you are talking about. Reminded me of making Homemade Ice Cream at the Milt which was always very good.

were. If I was gonna ask you to "please do something" I'd tell you
I'd put sprinkles,whipped cream,and a cherry on top.
Actually that sounds good, especially with the homemade ice cream I have in the freezer right now.
I'm too far away from the Twin Cities to know what A.P. did but it was probably stupid.

you're not old

Chris,

Not intended to say you were old. You are a young chick still. Was just referring to an old Milt saying. Double Dog Dare ya. Very funny.

Were you involved in the Adrian Peterson Altercation at the night club or what is up with that.

Keoni,

Someday I will come to see you. My wife has the Hawaii book from the travel agent. That's a good sign. I would love to come and visit you someday soon. If I do, I am bringing pie somehow.

Yep, Dulio, you need to bite the bullet and come on out here; you won't regret it and would have some wonderful memories. There is a Hawaiian saying, Hawai'i no ka oi = Hawai'i is the best, and it's true.

Yeah I don't think Keoni would want the pie after that trip to get there. A friend I worked with who recently retired, just got back from Hawaii. She tells me I absolutely need to go there some day. Keoni is living his dream there, how cool is that?

Have fun in Vegas.
I would love to go to Homecoming but can't yet.
I've got an Amish community near me but they don't have hex signs, milk pie or anything like that.
It's so sad.

Keoni, I am taking my wife to Las Vegas for her big 50 birthday in October. That is almost halfway if you want to meet for the pie swap. Can't guarantee the condition of the pie after baggage claim, sniffing dogs, and airline personnel.

Turkey Burgers too

I have occasionally switched to Turkey Burgers. Not as good as a good ole burger, but they are edible. Bacon from the Butcher is awesome. 2.99 a pound is awesome. Bacon from a Butcher at 2.99 a pound on a fresh burger - Priceless.

You could go for a turkey bacon instead. I get a beautifully smoked bacon at the butchers case for about $2.99/lb. I tastes so good in my potato salad.

buttery little circles

Yes the circles are very good. My Grandsons just want us to cook the circles for them, which is easy enough to do. I bought bacon the other day for the first time in a year. It was 7.00 a pound. What is up with that? We bought some tomatoes from the Tomato Barn in Washington Boro PA, which means BLT's for lunch. I haven't eaten bacon for about a year, but couldn't resist a BLT with some good meaty red tomatoes.

We still make shepherds pie in individual glass baking dishes. Save some broth from a previous roast beef meal, and make fresh gravy for on top of the shepherds pie. Very good. Oh by the way, I had Bullseyes for breakfast.

Lemon Sponge Rocks

Keoni is correct. I remember this from the milt i believe. Lemon Sponge Pie is awesome.

It is available from our local Willow Valley Bakery. Which reminds me of a new item i seen there last week. Maple Bacon Donuts. It actually has a strip of bacon on top of the donut. They also had chocolate covered bacon, which my wife said reminded her of a chocolate covered pretzel with the whole sweet salty thing going on. I gave up bacon last year after a heart issue, so I did not try it personally. I then seen on a sitcom show we watch on monday nights called "2 broke girls", they were making a maple bacon cupcake for martha stewart to try. Must be the new ingredient of choice.

I posted a picture on this site for you to check it out.

I remember eating

rhubarb pie at MHS, but always liked the milk pie best too.
Oddly enough, the thing I wouldn't eat for years after graduating was steak! The central kitchen always sent out steak that was so overcooked and dry that I couldn't understand how anyone would order this in a restaurant. Thank goodness I finally learned how good steak was when done right.

That was the nastiest thing I ever heard of. Keoni may remember this dessert, not sure if they served it when you were there Chris. Who thought that was a good idea?

My favorite pies at the Milt were:
Milk Pie
Boisenberry Pie

What were yours?

My housemother also used to make us Green Fried Tomatoes. I love tomatoes, but they need to be room temperature and very red and meaty. Fried Green Tomatoes were just not good.
