Homecoming Weekend
Mine was a little different. Instead of going to Hershey, where I'd been the previous week, I reveled in the third weekend of September (plus a few extra days) down the shore, getting reacquainted with my wife. (Somethng I heartily recommend every few decades.)
Great time. Virtually empty beaches and boardwalks. Eighty degree days and 71 degree ocean. Best of all, watching the little Hershey girl I married fifty years ago find sand dollars, share pizza with the sea gulls and dry the wings of butterflies trapped in the surf.
Sometimes, it's better to celebrate what you have than what you had.
